As if the Tomas Barfod – Till We Die featuring the amazing Nina Kinert original boasting “Let’s be lovers ’til we die” wasn’t beautifully bold and deep enough, the London based female duo Blond:ish created a remix hauntingly pretty with their smooth tech-house rendition. Kraken Rum..It’s dark, it’s spicy and comes with a vanilla finish.
I juiced the most beautiful pink grapefruits, then strained. Then I grated (with a cheese grater) fresh ginger. After hand squeezing the ginger juice into the grapefruit juice, I muddled sugar with the ginger pulp, infusing the two and triple straining them all together with the grapefruit mixture. I then added the Kraken Rum (1 part rum to 2 parts of the mix) and cracked ice into a glass. I added mint and crushed the two together with my muddler creating a mint ice slush to pour the mix over.
This cocktail was spicy, refreshing and delicious. Thanks to The Juice Box Wine & Spirits for featuring my creative mixing skills on the barrel! -Courtney K.
